We all know we should be respectful, friendly, and professional to our clients. But did you know you should celebrate them as well?

No, I don’t mean you have to throw them a surprise party. However, you should be making an active effort to make them feel they are valued.

Celebrating your clients is one of the easiest ways to delight them and foster a strong relationship.

So, how do you do it?

Here are three of the easiest ways to celebrate your clients.


1. Welcome them to your tribe by sending them a swag package.

If there are two things that everyone enjoys, it’s free stuff and feeling like they belong. Achieve both by welcoming your client to your tribe with a box full of goodies. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy, but it should convey that you put some thought into it.


For example, we send our new clients a variety of swag items including ROI Online T-shirts, fun stickers and buttons, playing cards and cups. We also update our swag “library” fairly often to make sure it’s always fresh.


2. Treat their successes as your successes.

Yes, we should all be doing this anyway, right? But does your client KNOW you are treating their successes as your own?

If not, make a point to devote a portion of your next meeting to celebrate their successes and to congratulate everyone on a job well done. You can also them a handwritten “congrats” note from the team, They should feel confident that your team is just as excited as they are about meeting their business goals.


3. Give them kudos and shout-outs whenever you can.

Point out when your client has done something great. Consider giving them a shout-out in a public forum, like on your blog or social media. One way to do this is by creating a case study or portfolio of their work and displaying it in a professional way. (Make sure you get their sign-off before posting it though!) This also helps your business as well.
