To Amarillo And Beyond: How Ralph Roberts Became A Household Name

He is the Director of Personal Training at the Downtown Athletic Club, a health club in Amarillo, Texas, as well as a former professional baseball player.

In less than three years, ROI Online has helped transform Ralph Roberts from the new personal trainer in town to one of the most recognized and respected health and fitness professionals in the Amarillo area.

The Ralph Roberts Personal Training brand has exploded, and much of that success has directly resulted from our combined social media efforts and focused branding strategy.

The Strategy & Approach

He wanted to position himself as a thought leader; he wanted to create a brand that traversed much farther than the Texas Panhandle; he wanted to attract the attention of industry professionals.

How did we go about achieving all of these goals? A large part is due to our robust social media strategy, branded promotional materials and Ralph’s commitment to the project. When a client signs on with ROI, it’s not just a service agreement — it’s a partnership.

In addition to creating a website and a logo, ROI Online posts two original blogs every week, sends out a monthly newsletter and maintains a strong social media presence, especially on Facebook. ROI Online consistently produces branded promotional materials (both digital and print) for Ralph Roberts Personal Training. We have created exercise demonstrations, eating guides, fitness postcards, workout booklets, eBooks and workout videos.

The Results

Ralph Robert’s social media accounts for 21.9% of his website traffic. Returning sessions have increased by 208% when comparing January 2016 to December 2015.

From February 2015 to February 2016, Ralph Roberts’ Facebook following grew by 20.8%. His organic post reach on Facebook increased 5%, compared in a one-year period.

The website’s blog traffic rose 237% from January 2015 to February 2016.

As a result of Ralph Roberts’ partnership with ROI Online, he has been featured in Men’s Health Magazine and made the top 10 in the 2015 Men’s Health Next Top Trainer competition. He is a member of celebrity trainer, Todd Durkin’s, elite Mastermind Group and appears weekly on ABC Amarillo’s morning show to discuss fitness and nutrition. He has spoken at several area high school programs and charity events.

He currently trains 12-15 clients, totaling 20-25 hours a week.

For the New Year, we promoted a Facebook campaign promoting a group training class. The ad resulted in 30 new page likes and a 3% growth in Ralph Roberts’ Personal Training Facebook following.

By harnessing Ralph Roberts’ vision and our digital marketing expertise, ROI Online has helped create a branding and social media juggernaut. Our strategies have garnered a loyal following, have driven brand loyalty and have encouraged fan engagement.
